Hi all,
i found the thread discussing this problem (task size limit thread). Now, if i'm to install 64-bit version of windows (maybe win 7), can i solve the problem of limited memory? regards, abul.

Hi guys,When you mesh the geometry with GMSH, you will see in the log the number of tetrahedron that is written.
SPIS-UI may effectively support 1.6 million tetrahedron, but depending on the models you use, the memory cost could increase significantly (for instance, if you model electrons as particles, it is more costly than a Boltzmann distribution).Regarding the memory limit, there are other threads discussing it in this forum. If I remember correctly, Windows does not support that one process uses more than 2 Gb of RAM. Generally speaking, we strongly advice to use Mac or Linux operating systems. That deal much better with memory.Regards
Benoît

Hi Nacho,
How do we check the number of tetrahedron then? I looked at the website and it says that a 2 GB ram can run up to 1.6 million tetrahedron. thanks, abul

Hi, i encounter the out of memory message when running one of the example in he validation test folder (high resolution). Can anyone tell me how much memory is needed to run the example? My PC is running Xp with 3.2 GB ram but still i'm unable to simulate the files. How do we adjust the SPIS memory management? Is it automatic?
thanks, abul anuar
Dear Abul, hi, how are you? I understand, and is logical, that the memory usage depends of the geometry, i.e. how much tetrahedra built the geometry.

Nacho

I've Checked the SPIS memory usage via memory monitor and found that the maximum memory i could use is just around 600,000K. If i'm to run anothe SPIS window, i could have another SPIS program running at almost the same amount of memory ( 2 SPIS running at 600,000K). Why can't i run only one at 1 GB of ram? anyone? thanks, abul anuar
